Founders First Closes $11 Million Series A Funding

Investments from Top Impact Philanthropic Organizations in America

Since the initial Series A funding round in February 2021, W.K. Kellogg Foundation, Pivotal Ventures, a Melinda French Gates company, the Schultz Family Foundation, and Arc Chicago, LLC have joined as investors. Arc Chicago is a fund created by the John D. and Catherine T. MacArthur Foundation to implement its Benefit Chicago collaboration with Chicago Community Trust and Calvert Impact Capital.

This financial support will position Founders First as the nation’s leading revenue-based investor and advisory for underrepresented businesses in the nation. Graduates of Founders First’s accelerator programs have:

  • Created more than 400 new full-time jobs, with the majority of hires being people of color
  • Increased revenues, with more than half adding new revenue streams to their businesses
  • Obtained a total of $26 million in funding
